cambodia history genocide
Questions about history and imperialism and stuff?

What led to the genocide in Cambodia? Why did Pol Pot kill 2 million people? If it wasn’t for religious reasons was it just for power?

When the Aryans invaded India did they make some people Muslim? How did it affect culture?

What were the things Akbar did to help India?

Pol Pot was practicing his own version of Communism. He thought Cambodia needed to be de-Westernized, de-urbanized and returned to its agricultural roots. The dislocation of society this entailed caused millions of Cambodians to starve to death, people who were seen as being agents of Western influence were killed by more direct methods.

The Aryan invasion happened long before Islam came into existence, their beliefs helped spawn Hinduism though. I think their attempt to keep themselves separate from the native population was the origin of the caste system.

Akbar I’m not sure about.
